AJ & THE WOODS
AJ & The Woods are a Cleveland, Ohio–based roots rock band blending Appalachian folk, Americana, and blues with modern rock energy. Formed in 2015 after a chance meeting between vocalist Alison Tomin and guitarist Joshua Alan Collins, the project has grown into a dynamic five-piece, adding depth through bass, drums, and fiddle.
At the core of the band is a collaborative songwriting process grounded in real-life experiences. Tomin’s powerful, expressive vocals pair with Collins’ textured guitar work to create songs that feel both intimate and expansive. Their sound moves fluidly between stripped-back folk moments and driving rock arrangements, giving them a distinct edge in today’s roots music landscape.
AJ & The Woods have built strong momentum in recent years. They were named Best Folk Artist at the 2023 Cleveland Music Awards and have supported acts such as Chase Rice and The Mary Wallopers. Their festival appearances include Bellwether Music Festival (208 & 2019) and the South Buffalo Irish Festival (2024 & 2025).
With releases like their 2022 album “Stay Steady” and their forthcoming album “For Her”, AJ & The Woods continue to establish themselves as a compelling voice in the modern folk and roots rock scenes.
